Safari Park “Mum” Saves Rare White Lion Cubs
ByThese heart-warming pictures show the safari park worker who became an unexpected mother – to four white lion cubs.
When the cubs’ mothers, sisters Nala and Lubaya, began to neglect their infants at Stukenbrock Safari Park in North West Germany, keepers decided that they needed to be taken into care.
They intervened to save the rare animals’ lives, handing them over to Jeannette Wurms – their new surrogate mother.
Now the 34 year-old park-keeper has a full-time job on her hands raising the cubs in her own house. “For me every day is mother’s day,” said Jeannette.
There are currently only around 200 white lions in existence worldwide.
